Why Make Traditional Art in A Digital World?
Just like everything else in the world, art and artist are evolving. More and more artists are making the switch from traditional to digital. Is digital the future? Does traditional art serve a purpose anymore? Well, In my opinion yes digital art is the future, but traditional art still does serve a purpose. In this article, I aim to ease some of the fears traditional artists have but still give an honest take about what I believe the future holds.

Whether we like it or not, traditional art as a large scale means of illustration or media production is probably on the way out. Digital artists are able to work faster which means they can keep up with the demands and deadlines that managers and overheads want to keep. AI art* only further exacerbates the "issue". With the advent or artificial art generators, "original" art can be produced in just seconds without the cost of paying an artist. So in a commercial sense Why would this not be the go to?
THERES STILL HOPE!
While this is not data, and my experiences are probably skewed in a pro-artist direction, the general sentiment seems to be a distaste for AI art. People that appreciate art are still clearly able to distinguish between art generated by a computer and art that was made with a human touch. Until that line is completely blurred, traditional art still has its own space. Also, more and more artists and internet personalities are getting the word out that art created by AI may not be ethical because of the sources it draws from.

WHERE DOES TRADITIONAL ART FIT NOW?
People that fear the day when AI or Digital take hold of the art sphere seem to forget one thing, the process. While the results may not be as impressive or as quick as that of AI and Digital art, the process of making traditional art is unique. Whether businesses only pay for AI generated art or not, people will still enjoy the process of traditional art. People enjoy using a real brush, mixing their real paints and setting up palettes. And that's the important word here: People. While Digital and AI art will appeal to businesses and deadlines, traditional art will always connect with people. And as long as you can connect with people, you can impact change.
I didn't mean to get so pseudo-inspirational at the end there, but I truly believe what I said. Traditional art may not hold up as art steps further and further into the capitalistic world, but It will always have a unique and much appreciated human touch .
